OFFICE PROCEDURES
At Dr. Herwig and Johnson's office, we aspire to offer you the most professional
and comfortable atmosphere for your dental experience. We are sensitive
to our patient's needs and concerns and strive to make every visit a pleasant
experience. The following will explain our office policies:
Adults(18 or over) will be scheduled with Dr. Herwig or Dr. Johnson for a thorough examination. This will include examination of the teeth, periodontal tissues, the soft tissues of the mouth, and the temporal mandibular joints. Children under 18 will also be examined and treated as is appropriate for their age.
Emergencies will be handled as promptly as possible. We will make every effort to ensure that you are treated in a timely manner. When Dr. Herwig is out of the office he can be reached 24 hours a day by mobile pager. Please call (816) 392-8408 if you have an emergency. HYGIENE VISIT
To keep your mouth and teeth healthy for a lifetime, good oral hygiene is very imporant!
We recommend than everyone have a their teeth professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
This helps to keep the gum tissues healthy and to detect dental problems early.

We have installed CEREC© restoration equipment which allows the dentist to complete ceramic tooth restoration chairside. This is a kinder, gentler and faster way of restoring damaged or decayed teeth ii a single office visit. Using an optical impression of the damaged tooth, we eliminate the tranditionally uncomfortable and cumbersome process of taking physical impressions. The filling, crown or veneer is manufactured in the office while the patient waits. No return visit is required. The procedure is more conservative because modern bonding techiques allow more healthy tooth structure to be saved.
